Watchful Waiting Pays Off

Sometimes the best thing to do is to do nothing. Watchful waiting is proving to pay off for Morgan. His heart is starting to find its own rhythm and over the past 12 hours has sustained it without the support of the artificial pacemaker. They will keep him on the temporary one for another 24 hours and then re-evaluate to see whether or not he will actually need a permanent one. This is good news. All the rest he has had has really paid off because it looks like his heart might reset after all.
He is a lot clearer and was really able to talk to me today. It was great to hear his trying to crack jokes and looking more like himself. He's been able to eat a bit or I should say drink a little bit of soup but that is a least something. He is at least trying to eat.
So he still is lying flat out and will be that way for the next 48 hours most likely as we watch and wait to make sure his heart is able to maintain its own rhythm.

  1. That is very good to hear. Please let him know that we are thinking about him.
