Finally home!

Morgan's blood level related to the coumadin hit the magic number this morning and he was released today. He is home and resting. We are very grateful that he is doing so well. I will be finishing up the blog today with his exit from the hospital, so I am sending everyone our thanks for all the kind thoughts and help we have received. It has been very gratifying to hear from so many friends, family, and co-workers who have been keeping us in their thoughts. Thank you for being there for us.

Quick update on discharge

Morgan is now in hold mode again. Now that they think they have the internal bleeding under control, the doctors want to be sure that the clot issues are resolved. In order to do that, they put him back on IV heparin with the plan to transition him to oral coumadin. If he remains stable on the oral blood thinner, he can go home. The problem is that due to the internal bleeding they will have to go slowly with the coumadin as they wait for it to be at a certain level in his blood. Right now, it looks like Wednesday might be the day that he will hit his exit criteria. He is in good spirits and is using this time to rest and recooperate. We are all learning that patience is a virtue and that the slow, steady progress that he has made will hold him in good stead as he recovers and works his way home.
