Fast Track Out of the ICU

The doctors are confident that Morgan's heart will hold so they have removed the temporary pacemaker and will not put a permanent one in. This has now put him on the fast track out of the ICU. The doctor is working on the orders and finding a bed in the step down unit where he will be monitored for 24-48 hours and sent home.  He is finally able to lie any way he wants in the bed rather than flat on his back, so he is now on his side curled up a bit and fast asleep. The next project is to get him up gradually. After almost a week flat out, I am sure that will be quite a sensation.
