Feeling Good Again

While I said the other day that I thought Morgan had turned the corner, yesterday Morgan really felt that and was back to dancing around the room and saying how he felt like things could only go up from here. It's wonderful to see him cheerful and positive and even better to slowly see him detached from all the medical equipment. He is just hanging out now waiting for treatment for the ulcer and clot to be completed. They discontinued the constant IV infusions he was receiving so he is no longer tethered to an IV pole (watch out nurses, he's on the loose!). He will complete the rest of the treatment for the ulcers and then be evaluated to find out if the clot near his heart remains. This will dictate when he can leave the hospital. He is on Day 15 today so eager to leave but also happy to be in the "timeless universe of healing" found at the hospital which is doing a great job of getting him well.
While he is not out having his own adventures, adventure came to him this morning with the breaking news that a prisoner that was being treated at the hospital had escaped and the hospital had been locked down. Can you believe it? Here's a link about the story for those of you who are not local and may not have heard the news. http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/inova-fairfax-hospital-is-on-lockdown/2015/03/31/421aaa4e-d783-11e4-b3f2-607bd612aeac_story.html
I took this picture of Morgan yesterday at his request, so that his BCCD co-workers especially could see how well he is doing. He once again wants to thank everyone for all the positive vibrations sent his way. He is busy now spreading them around to all the hospital staff that comes into his orbit!
For those of you wondering about how I am doing, I finally got a really good run finished in Front Royal, one of my favorites that takes me down by the Shenandoah River. I had told myself that when I finally was able to get an hour long run in without worrying about getting to the hospital, things would be on the upside and Morgan would be heading home soon. That happened today and that makes me very happy.
