Hold Mode
The good news is that Morgan is finally really resting comfortably which is exactly what his heart needs. The only thing that is truly bothersome is the temporary pacemaker requires that he lie flat on his back with his leg straight. Needless to say, that is hard to do. But he needs to do this until they figure out the pacemaker and whether or not his heart can maintain a natural rhythm on its own. So far it has not been able to do so. Meanwhile he has shown some signs of infection so they are giving him antibiotics and need to be sure that that is resolved before they can insert a pacemaker. So he is in hold mode which is good in one sense because that may help his heart reset. Unfortunately his stay in the ICU will be prolonged until at least Sunday. I am not worried because he is receiving excellent care. I have been very impressed with the care he is receiving here. The nurses have been especially great--very caring and knowledgeable.
